Before any training starts, Laz evaluates your dog in person: age, temperament, current skills, and the specific problems you want solved. That evaluation determines which program fits, not the other way around.

Ways to Train With Alpha Buddy

We offer three formats, each suited to a different situation:

1. Dog Obedience Training — Weekly in-person sessions covering basic commands through advanced off-leash reliability. Best for owners who want to be part of the training process.
2. Private Dog Trainer Sessions — One-on-one lessons in your home, focused on a specific behavior issue like leash pulling, jumping, or reactivity.
3. Dog Boarding Training Program — Your dog stays with us for 2–8 weeks of daily structured training when you want faster, more immersive results.

Meet Your Trainer

Laz Trista has over 20 years of experience as a certified dog trainer and behaviorist, including work with psychiatric service dogs cleared for commercial air travel. Alpha Buddy Dog Training is BBB-accredited and has trained hundreds of South Florida families’ dogs — from first-time puppy owners to dogs with serious aggression or anxiety histories.

How do I know which training format is right for my dog?

It depends on your schedule and your dog’s needs. If you want to be present for every session and build the skills yourself, obedience training or private sessions work best. If your schedule is tight or your dog needs immersive, daily structure, board and train is usually faster.

Do you train dogs of all breeds and ages?

Yes. We work with puppies as young as 8 weeks (potty training only until 4 months) through senior dogs, and all breeds and sizes.

Where do sessions take place?

Your home, a local park, the beach, or wherever your dog needs to practice — we come to you anywhere in South Florida for in-person formats.
